David Orbuch

David Orbuch is a values-based servant leader who has led healthcare businesses on three continents. A recognized leader in governance, corporate responsibility, and ethics, he brings deep strengths in strategy, financial management, business planning, and operational execution. He believes strong, diverse teams and a healthy culture are a lasting competitive advantage.

David recently retired from UnitedHealth Group, where he was Chief Operating Officer of UnitedHealth Group Brazil, the company’s largest business outside the U.S. ($5 billion in revenue, 35,000 employees). Earlier, he was CEO and Managing Director of Optum UK, overseeing governance, financial management, and clinical and technology services supporting England’s National Health Service.

Before UnitedHealth Group, David was President of the Phillips Eye Institute and its Foundation at Allina Hospitals and Clinics, where he established the Foundation and its award-winning community health programs. He also served as Allina’s Executive Vice President for Corporate Responsibility, Ethics and Compliance. Earlier, he spent more than 10 years as a federal and state prosecutor.

David lives in Minneapolis and is CEO of Bold Pursuits, which helps entrepreneurs align around and achieve bold objectives. He is deeply committed to community health and well-being and is active in numerous civic and cultural organizations.
