Sharon Jenkins, Ed.D.
Development Director
Sharon Jenkins is a nonprofit and organizational development strategist with 30 years of experience building, scaling, and leading organizations across the full spectrum of mission-driven work — from cancer research and hospice care to aging advocacy and medical education. She has raised more than $100 million for nonprofit causes and brings deep sector fluency across healthcare, advocacy, and professional associations.
Her institutional affiliations include: City of Hope (a designated National Cancer Institute), the National Council on Aging, and the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, among others. She has served as a hospice board member and volunteer, bringing personal as well as professional commitment to the
Sharon has been certified and recertified as a CFRE — the only globally accredited credential in nonprofit resource development — eight times, and holds the advanced ACFRE designation. She served on the board of CFRE International and is a recognized voice in the field of ethical, evidence-based fundraising.
Academically, she holds a B.A. from Johns Hopkins (with research experience at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health), an M.Sc. from the London School of Economics, an M.Ed. from Harvard (with research work at Harvard Medical School’s Judge Baker Children’s Center), and an Ed.D. from Vanderbilt University. For the past three years, she has developed and taught MBA curriculum at the University of Wyoming College of Business and serves as a Venture Mentor in the MIT-UWYO Venture Mentor Program.
