Malorie Snider Omasta is a trained Women’s Health Physician, Social Worker / Therapist, and Medical Anthropologist with a passion for women’s mental health, social justice, and medical education reform. Her primary areas of clinical interest include sexual & reproductive trauma and perinatal mental health. She is currently focusing her clinical practice on women’s mental health in her capacity as a contracting therapist with Reedy-Kay & Associates in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Malorie holds a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Johns Hopkins University. Earlier in her academic journey, she studied Biological Anthropology at Harvard University and earned a Master of Science in Medical Anthropology as a Rhodes Scholar at the University of Oxford.
She most recently earned her Master of Social Work at The Ohio State University. She has previously worked as a private practice OB/GYN, as a sexual assault crisis counselor, and as an advocate for survivors of human trafficking. She has also developed and led educational programming about the role of healthcare providers in recognizing and intervening in cases of suspected trafficking.
In the future, Malorie hopes to combine her medical, mental health, and social services experiences into an integrated practice that takes a holistic approach to women’s healthcare.
Her dream is to develop a trauma-informed program of obstetric and gynecological care for women who have experienced sexual or reproductive trauma, offering wrap-around services, the space to be heard, and “careful and kind care” to all patients.
